Acts: The first steps of the Church

We are delighted to welcome Jim Turrent to Shetland this year. He is coming all the way from the southern reaches of Dundee to speak to us from the Book of Acts, exploring with us the distinctive nature of Jesus’ Church and it’s explosive beginnings. Through the five evening talks Jim will take us through the presence, the project, the people, the power and the pattern of the Church. So you can impress him and start memorising those 5 P’s now!

Jim Turrent

Jim was an engineer before committing to full-time ministry. He served at Culloden Baptist Church in Inverness for many years before moving on to his current position in Dundee. He has a passion for pastoral ministry, biblical teaching and Church planting. We are very much looking forward to what he has to share with us. He will be speaking at all five evening meetings as well as the leader’s conference on the Thursday and the fellowship breakfast on Saturday

Five Talks

As usual, the core of Shetland Bible Week is five evening talks spanning from Wednesday to Sunday. Each meeting is a worship celebration and an opportunity to reflect and be challenged by God’s Word. It is an opportunity for all different congregations from around Shetland to come together, share together and be encouraged together. You are very much welcome to come and join us.

Meetings are held at Lerwick Methodist Church

Wednesday to Saturday at 7:30pm

and Sunday at 6pm
