Overview

Shetland Bible Week has been an annual event for over twenty years and quality Bible teaching has always been at our heart – God’s true word expounded clearly and presented powerfully.

Along with worship and fellowship, we hope to equip and inspire God’s people on Shetland to live for Jesus and share his good news with the world.

A little bit of History

The first ever Bible Week was started in early September 1992, and it had Billy Strachan speaking. The following year was Ian Barclay and during one of his talks, the electricity cut off! He kept on speaking regardless until power was restored. Since those days it has has seen a lot of changes and much growth. The venue has changed a few times, the meetings have changed, more events have been added. All through this though, the one thing that has not changed has been our commitment to the Word of God and our strong belief that it has the power to change lives.

More than a Sunday Service

With talks from a visiting speaker from Wednesday to Sunday, A conference for Church Leaders, as well as a Fellowship Breakfast on the Saturday Morning – we have a variety of opportunities for you to come and enjoy Shetland Bible Week. Aside from Bible teaching, there is always a good atmosphere of community and fellowship after the meetings. A great opportunity to meet with other Christians from other Churches. Lots of tea, coffee and an assortment of biscuits are an added bonus too!

Looking Forward

We are very grateful to God for the way he has guided Shetland Bible Week for the past 30 years. And we trust that he has plans for it long into the future. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future events, then please do get in touch using our contact page.
